Grade 2

Grade 2 at JTD is a year of growth, exploration, and discovery.
In Grade 2, students are encouraged to learn about and engage with the larger community in which they learn and live. Each Grade 2 learning space has 24-26 students with two co-teachers per classroom to continue to provide optimal support to every child.
The World Around Us
Hands-on activities are designed to give students the experience of having a positive impact on the world around them, whether it is helping to clean a beach or exploring protected wetlands.
From research projects about our historical heroes, writing stories to animate, and whale watching field trips, Grade 2 students become independent critical thinkers and conscientious citizens ready to affect positive change in their community and in themselves.
