Grade 5

Students in Grade 5 learn in a departmentalized model by subject, moving from class to class throughout the day.
Grade 5 students are organized into two sections of approximately 24 students for their classes. Students begin and end each day in smaller advisory groups that provide a home base for Grade 5 students. Highlights of fifth grade include participation in our popular debate program, an outdoor education trip with a focus on team building and collaboration, and a student-developed showcase of learning that relates to Language Arts and Social Studies.
Advisors and Social Guidance
Advisors provide students academic and social guidance and function as the main communication outlet between school and home.
Advisory allows students to develop close relationships with teachers and peers in a caring, cooperative atmosphere that emphasizes individual attention, organizational skills, and personal growth.
